EXPERIENTIAL ECOTOURISM PROGRAM AT “LA FLORIDA” LODGE WITH ITS PRIVATE CONSERVATION AREA, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE MACHIGUENGA COMMUNITY.
The “La Florida” lodge of the Chirumbia National Park, located in the Quellouno – Quillabamba area – CONVENCIÓN A.C.R.P. Private Resource Conservation Area.
Reception: Arrival of the group, airport reception, welcome dinner, and briefing.
Breakfast at your hotel and early morning departure by bus at 6:00 a.m. heading to the town of Santa María. During this journey, you will see inter-Andean landscapes that you will love, as you ascend from 3,000 meters to 4,300 meters at Abra Málaga, with interesting landscapes along the way. You will then descend into the lowland rainforest and arrive in the town of Santa Teresa. As you travel, the vegetation changes, the landscapes change, and the climate becomes warm, and we enjoy a blue sky. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will settle into your accommodation in a very picturesque town with wooden houses and other buildings. Lunch is provided by the agency. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a fabulous and relaxing medicinal bath in the thermal medicinal waters of Cocalmayo, which is located near the town. In the evening, dinner is on your own and the rest of the night is free to go out.
Breakfast at your hotel, followed by departure to Quillabamba and check-in at your hotel. Departure for a tour to a site known as the “7 Tinajas,” followed by a return and visit to the Salvatierra pool, where you will have lunch and then enjoy a restorative swim. Free evening to have dinner on your own and free time to go out.
Breakfast at your hotel and departure toward the “La Florida” tourist lodge in the Quellouno area. Along the way, you will see various small settlements where all kinds of fruits are grown: oranges, bananas, lemons, limes, grapefruits, passion fruits, etc. You will arrive at the capital of the Quellouno district, where you will take a city tour around the town, and then continue the journey until reaching the “La Florida” lodge. There, the lodge staff and the native members of the Chirumbia community, who are of Machiguenga origin, will be waiting to welcome us with their traditional dances and handicrafts, characteristic of this beautiful jungle region of La Convención. Lunch and rest. At the lodge, you can enjoy recreational games for both children and adults, swimming pools, volleyball, and soccer, as we have specialized sports courts.
Breakfast at the lodge, followed by visits to fruit plantations where oranges, bananas, avocados, and other fruits are grown. Pick and bring the fruits back to the lodge so that you can make your own orange juice and fruit salad with yogurt or whatever you prefer. Experiential activities that you wish to try, such as cultivating, harvesting, working, and more. Learn how coffee is harvested and its entire process, as well as cacao and other fruits.
Breakfast at the lodge and departure for a tour throughout the Chirumbia National Park and Private Resource Area. Throughout the morning, wear appropriate clothing for the tour (sneakers or rubber boots, mosquito repellent, and long-sleeved shirts), as well as drinks and food; where you will be able to observe all of our great flora and fauna in situ in our beautiful Amazon rainforest, with immense trees more than 50 meters tall, lush vegetation with the common and scientific names of the virgin rainforest. Birds and animals of the area such as parrots, manacaracos, pustis, pigeons, Andean cock-of-the-rocks, monkeys, and some other animals that you will encounter along the way, such as immense and colorful butterflies, in addition to the boisterous singing of the different small birds that you can record.
Breakfast at the lodge. You will visit the Machiguenga community, where you will see their handicrafts and jewelry, and learn how they gradually transformed and became integrated into civilization, becoming what they are today with the Catholic missionaries who helped them in their conversion. Return to the lodge, lunch, and free afternoon to do independent activities, play, swim in the pool, or engage in other activities you may wish to do.
Breakfast at the lodge, return to the city of Cusco, and visit to the Illapani waterfalls. Along the way, you will see the town of Palma Real. Continue the journey and have lunch in the city of Quillabamba. Arrival in Cusco from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., check-in at your hotel, end of services.
